Usually in the AM and Pm but really, do them whenever you want!!!
As far as how, it depends on what tradition you are feeling drawn to.
As long as they are done as a repectful acknowlegement to Buddha as a teacher and
not as a god, that's the main point. Based on respect and compassion
is the true motivation for prostrations for me personally.
They also really help you clear your mind and helps drop some ego too. Try working
up to 108 at a time, a little at a time. It does wonders! Good luck on your practice!1
