Hello everyone,
I discovered this board about 1 week ago after surfing the web looking for good buddhist websites for a long while. I must say that I enjoy this site. Especially the webboard and the kind people that posts replies and questions in it.
Now, I have asked a lot of questions, some rather weird and other questions that I am interested in. One of the reasons is that I want to learn more about buddhism and the answers to my questions hasn't been in any books that I've read or any websites I have visited.
In august I am going away for 17 days to Nalanda Monastery in France and I would like to be as well prepared as possible to get the most out of the visit.
So I now wonder what the right way of greeting a monk would be for a layperson. Do we shake hand, do we bow or?
Also I would like if possible reflections on retreats if anyone has been to one.
I also wonder what "Mette" means? I have noticed that some people write that when they are finishing a reply or question.
Sincerely,
Andreas
