Yes, it does happen. Nothing to harp about, though. And it is not an achievement either.

In the process of intense concentration, bliss occurs. This bliss makes the body tingle with delicious pleasure. A serious meditator notes this and carries on with the meditation object. But at times, the bliss magnifies so much that it ACTUALLY lifts the body, though normally, the meditator isn't aware that it is happening.

Think of it as a by-product of meditating.

Serious levitation, flying actually, occurs in a very different scenario. This is related to the attainment of powerful psychic powers in the meditation of the Earth Kasina. Ancient monks used to attain to such levels. (Again, it's a by-product of meditation).
