I just finished reading "Cave in the snow" about Tenzin Palmo, an English born woman who is a reincarnated lama who has chosen to incarnate this lifetime in the female form. She has declared that she will achieve enlightenment in the female form no matter how many lifetimes it takes. there are a few female enlightened ones mentioned in this book and one is the female budda named Tara
