I try only to give information about this matter.
According to Buddhist Philosophy, this universe also should be ended or vanished.
The Dharma or Buddhist Teaching also will be dissapear, and then followed with the "Darkness Age". But before Buddha Dharma dissapear, there are some signs, for example: Buddhist Sutras will be dissapear, and first Sutra which will be lost is Shurangama Sutra, and then followed by the other Sutra.
After Dharma vanished, then for a long "Darkness Age", the Boddhisatva Maitreya, will be born into the world, attain Buddhahood and teach the new Dharma or Buddhist teaching.
His teaching will remain in the world for a very long time, and then come the End of the Age. After this the new universe will be appear, vanish, appear, and so on.
If Bodhisatva Maitreya come to the world will be very pure, no polution etc, water will be clear like a glass.
