: Dear fellow Buddhas
: The Buddha teaches that all things are Buddha nature. I have a problem with mice and have been using traps to catch them, but some of them I have just maimed and I feel very guilty about that. I do'nt even fish because I feel so guilty about killing anything. Yet I feel like a hypocrit because I eat meat. Is this a stupid question?
Not stupid at all!
As to eating meat, the important thing is to remember that the animal was alive, had feelings and now is dead. Amnesia is worse than eating it! Feel compassion for that animal and pray for it.
BTW eating meat is not *wrong* or un-Buddhist...killing IS!
