I am certainly no expert on meditation, nor do I do it half as much as I should or need to. And so I take advice from Thich Naht Hahn (I always spell it wrong, I apologize) and try to find moments in my day to meditate. WEll, every night I take a bubble bath and read buddhist wisdom to reconnect after a long hard day. Last night as I sat there relaxing, I totally zoned out, and here is a new meditation you may want to try sometime:
I sit in the nice hot bubble bath, surrounded by the smell of incense and listen to the sound of the bubbles popping, one by one. Then I open my eyes, and watch them pop. Pop! One is gone forever...where did it go? Did it cease to exist? Or did it just disappear to other places? I imagined as each bubble popped, that someone has passed one. I imagined as each bubble popped that someone was born into their next life. I imagined as each bubble popped that someone became enlightened. Imagine what you wish, or as they say in zen, just be still and sit. It was very peaceful and cleansing, and although it was simple, I touched enlightenment for a short time...and POP! it was gone....
