I haven't read this book yet, but I know Thubten Chodron (I believe the same one) from about ten years ago (I think) when she visited Hong Kong, where I lived for 18 years, as a relatively recently ordained nun. Since then she has spent a long time in Singapore, during which time the FPMT centre there has gone from a small one to one of the largest in the world. I remember she put out a number of small pamphlets talking about various Buddhist questions, eg reincarnation, designed to help explain simply to non-Buddhists (and I suspect, a few followers who were a bit hazy as to a few important points!).
Straight down the line, but worth reading if you ever come across them.
By the way, for those of you who don't know, Buddha's Village is hosted in Sydney, Australia, where I live. According to the logs, we have visitors from all over the world, though most come from America, as you would expect, given the distribution online. My brother lives in Del Mar, California and I have friends in San Francisco and San Jose, so I know the West Coast a little. Many years ago, I lived in the UK, in DH Lawrence country (Ilkeston, Derbyshire), and my mother still lives in Baildon, Yorkshire (Charlotte Bronte country for you literary buffs!).
