Dear Susan,
Sad to hear about your son. Thank you for your answer. Just one question. You mentioned in your message:" it scared the hell of him". What do you mean by that ? I live in Singapore (not the ideal place for young people with drug / psycological problems but there must be other places in Asia where he can get a place (I hope). My cousin lives in Norway, maybe it is an idea that I contact a local buddist community there in order to get more info and prepare him for a longer term stay abroad??
Thanks again for your kind cooperation.
Paal

: I am so sorry about your cousin's problem and since I live in America, I can't advise where to go in Asia. My son was an addict for years and he turned to Buddhism and he died a Buddhist with all the high prayers given to a fellow Buddhist. Be almost grateful that this experience has happened to him, it scared the hell of him. Don't hammer the addiction at him, he just slipped and got a high teaching. You say you live in Asia so you must live in a Buddhist country, go to a monastery and take him with you. Let him become a monk for a while, now that is great disapline in itself. If I remember correctly, in some countries in Asia one doesn't have to take a vow for life. Just a suggestion.

: Susan
