: Where did you get the idea that all Buddhist are vegatarians? You will find to your disapointment that in other Buddhist countries that have been here hundreds of years do eat meat, fish and all sorts of goodies. The body can suffer without some sort of protein. Its done with wisdom, when the body craves something beside vegatables, its telling you that it needs whatever it wants. Once the body level is at it owns level again, then you can go back to whatever you were doing.
: Listen to the body.
I mean no disrespect to Susan, but I have to disagree with her about the body needing meat. Although meat is a conveniant source of protein, there are loads of other sources which are just as conveniant and cheap but don't involve the needless slaughter of innocent animals. Pulses and dairy products to name but two. Being a vegetarian doesn't mean just eating vegetables!
