: Dear Susan,
I'm from Singapore. I actually send some mails to some Temples in Thailand but I have not hear from them since April this year, so I don't know if they want to help. I think "shrines" should be the correct word to use, rather than "altar". I need to build a house shrine on the floor in the corner of the hall for the altar. Where are you from? Please help. Thank you.

: : I want to set a altar in my house and offer my thai buddha in the hall. I have a small corner in my hall set up the altar and looking for some design/sample of altar so that I can get it build. I want it to be like a temple so that I can place the status in it. The status is about 30 cm in height. Can anyone help, please mail me with the photos. Thanks.

: I am sure that there is some one of this site that knows the answer. Thai pople have a regular altart house that is place in th beginning of their land but usually in the garden. When I was there this house I really had a good chance in looking in one and it spears that there are figues of the family and of spiritual contitation. Always water, good, flowers. I brought back a books on Shrines and see if I can't find some help for you. You might trying a Search and Buddhist Alatas and perhaps some of the what you are looking for. You don't say where you are locatied in the world but there muust be some Thai people in the community that could be of assistence,

: Lot of Love,
: Susan

: PS. Do you have a house shine or one that goes on the wall?
