: Hi, I have been going thru quiet a number of changes in my life recently, being a serious illness and the breakdown of my marriage. I have been interestingly reading this site, as well as becoming increasingly interested in buddhism and I would like some suggestions as to where I can get more reading material, and perhaps attend a buddhist centre for teachings. I am located in Kew, Melbourne Australia and I realise that buddhas village is based in Sydney, so can anyone help please?
: Thank you, all responses would be appreciated.

Hi Mel. A book was recomended to me by someone on this site which I found to be one of the most insightful books on Buddhism I've ever read. It's "the compass of Zen" by Zen Master Seung Sahn which you can buy from Amazon. It explains the fundamental teachings of three of the main Buddhist schools - Therevada, Mahayana and Zen - in a very readable and clear way.
