I couldn't help noticing that perhaps one of the root causes of your problems is this notion of a "one God" that you declared that you believe in. Don't get me wrong, everyone has a right to believe anything they wish, but essentially what is the conception of a monotheistic God but a classic and obvious anthropomorphism? It's assigning a face, a phenomenal human characteristic to the Absolute, something that certainly should be free of human attributes. An example of this is how God is consistently referred to as a "He," as though Absolute reality possessed a human gender.

Hanging on to the notion of a monotheistic God I believe, forces us likewise to cling to the notion of the self, which is illusionary and should be realized in this manner. I think that the key for you in overcoming your stress is the realization of this illusionary and transitory nature and of the self. This is the medium to discovering happiness and contentment, by realizing genuine reality, where all is one and undifferentiated.

Peace my friend,
Shane
