: I know, or am to meet, this Buddhist in my area. I want to know more about the Buddhism around China... not in China but in the closely related countrys. From what I've heard, it sounds like their Buddhism is really well mixed with their traditional mysticism. Thanks, Metta.

I know you are looking for an answer but I don't know the answer as if your new friend is here now but has been in China the last few years, I don't know what changes have been made accordingly to the Chinese government. It is usually very similiar as to Thailand, going to temple, offerings to their ansestors and symbolic offerings that I have seen but don't know about.
Just meet your friend as a new friend and ask about it if you feel that it is apprioate, I am sure that they would like to share with you if you explain you are a new to Buddhism and just ask the question. I don't know if that helps at all. Just a thought.

PSS On your breathing article, try and retain a 7, its easier on the system and Lamas do breath from the tummy up. I just tried what you said, and I am feeling the breath coming from the tummy, never thought about that before. Thanks
