Chan/Zen: Read the Platform Sutra of the 6th Patriarch of Chan.
Pureland: Read the Sutra of Amitabha. (There are at least 3 major Purelands, but the Amita Buddha is the most popular right now.)

You can find them and many others: The Heart Sutra, The Diamond (Cutting) Sutra at http://www.sinc.sunysb.edu/Clubs/buddhism/sutras_main.html
(You don't have to read them all. Get a taste of it with a chapter or two first.)
Another good website would be http://www.best.com/~mlee/

The Buddhist Door online magazine from Tung Lin Kon Yuen at http://www.tunglinkok.ca/frameseteng.htm offers many articles.

The Chinese Mahayana Buddhist see (or, at least try to practice) Buddhism in everyday life, not just during the meditation.
