To each of you this evening I ask for prayers of protection for the Tibetans in Tibet at this moment.
I know that each of us study Buddhism in their own form and not always as Tibetan Buddhist but regardless of our sect, prayers are the same.
I don't want to talk politics here but I am sure that you are catching the news on the telly and in your newspapers about the forum that is being held in NY at the UN and how that the Chinese has insured that His Holiness would not attend. The sad part of all of this that in this new Century, we as a human race have new opportunities to try and repair the world that we have so terribly misbused and that the people of the world (6 billion humans now live on this planet) have the opportunity to bring goodness to the world in all areas. Spiritual change is going to be essential to all humans and the chance to come together regardless of faith to help the world and I don't know how or what will come from this forum but I would have liked to have His Holiness included and it will be interesting to see how this works out.
But that is not what I am concerned about or ask for your prayers this evening. Since the end of June, the Chinese have begun again to prosecute the Tibetans in Llasa and surrounding areas and these people have no place to hide, no place to run and are at the mercy of whatever the Chinese do. Their lives are in great jeopardy and once again the midnight raids on homes are being made in search of His Holiness picture, shrines and incence and young nuns and monks are being sent home to their ;parents under the terrible threats of what can and will happen if that is not done.
So perhaps, just a few prayers each day for their protection and equally prayers for the Chinese and send it with love. I am sorry that this is so long but please for them, I ask.
