Hello Susan and the rest on the forum!
Yesterday I got the good news that Susan was willing to part with some of his pictures of Dalai Lama and send them to me. I also downloaded Tony磗 message about Dalai Lama磗 forthcoming teaching at San Jose,
California in 2001. I became totally fascinated about the possibility to go and listen at him next May and started to figure out, how much it would cost for
a person living in Finland, to make that journey.
Well, last night I had a vivid dream, I want to tell you. I dreamt that I was in San Jose and going into
a huge auditorium to listen at Dalai Lama. At the end of the lecture everyone queued to get his blessing.
When it was my turn, I was shocked when I looked at Dalai Lama磗 face, because it was thin and lean and bore the signs of some mortal illness. Despite the signs of impending death his eyes were strangely big and lustruous.
I burst into tears. Dalai Lama tried to console me,
and told me something I cannot remember. At this point the dream ended.
As a psychotherapist I would classify this dream as a
wish-fullfillment dream. I wish to see the Dalai Lama,
and consequently I dream that this happens. But in the
Hindu tradition it is said, that if you have a dream about your guru or some other spiritual figure, that is a sign of his blessing. Does the Buddhist tradition have a similar view?
