I have been a Buddhist a long long time and I still don't know much of anything. It really isn't much different from other forms of faith.
There is always prayers, silence and reading and learning to understand your own true nature. You are the one that is the partcipate. A little bit at a time. Just sit and breath and watch your thoughts go back and forth and when you have read a sentence or thought that turns the heart, then think about that. If you have a question, jump on the forum and ask it and someone will try and answer. Be kind to yourself.
