The monks from Gaden Shartze Monastery are on a fall tour. I went and heard a talk at the Museum of N. Arizona this morning in Flagstaff. The meditation was on patience and compassion. I don't remeber the Lama's name but he had an interpreter. Very good and serene atmosphere. The especially good thing about it was there were about 75-80 high school students there. They listened intently, were polite and asked very good questions. It was nice to see the dharma spark such interest in the next generation. One young girl commented that all you see on the news is negative and violent stories. One of the monks said that it was because good news is boring to some and there is so much of it, nobody is interested. Everyone laughed. They are in Flagstaff through Saturday night. I'm going to try and go to the "cleansing ritual" Fri. nite and the Empowerment Blessing of Garuda on Sat. after work. It's wonderful to have teachers of the dharma come into the area.Really jump starts the practice into a new momentum. I'll update. Peace to all..... Stephen
