I have read about the laughing buddha and have seen the happy buddha many times in statues and pictures. Recently I came across a beautiful statuette of a standing buddha. He has a lobe at the top of his head, elongated ears, right hand at his side palm facing forwards and left hand curled with thumb and forefinger touching. Is the pose of this buddha pointing to a different aspect of life than the laughing or happy buddha?
