Kasanda:
You may want to go back to 8/15-Refuge Vows and see if you like those. They were give by Kalu Rinpche so they are authentic. All you have to do is print it out and there you have it.

Renunciation:
It takes years to work on the subject you are asking about because we each are attached and everything else by inherited nature and karma of our past lives. Do it gentle at first and work on those things or issues that are easy to do and then graduate your way up. It can't be done at one time as its not meant to be.
In the ancient times and I am referring to India, it was not until someone had reached middle age or even starting their older years when they responsibilities to their family and community had ceased to be and they were allowed to leave family life alone and go in search to finish the spiritual journey of life. It was such a automatic way of life.
In today's world and so much is asked out of us, that its hard to work hard spiritualy on one's self as there is the family, job, children and so on and so once again, be gentle.
Life in itself and processing it is where one learns how to dissern and detach and it will come naturally and it really how much pain you want to suffer. It is possible to live in the world and be in it and still be like an observer and not get caught up in the webs. Pain is a great teacher, I am not referring to physical but other emotions and sometimes it comes the time that you can just become the observer. I certainly can vouch for that.
