Say, what are you going to do about it?

: Hello everyone,
: Up till now I have had no doubt in the Buddhas teaching. All my questions were answered by it, but, there is one thing that has got me stumped. When you become enlightened you escape the cycle of rebirth and suffering and exist in full awareness for eternity. So if you are enlightened half way through a human life you live in the material body until it dies then you never have to come back. Then if the world blows up the enlightened people exist happily not as a self but as one but what happenes to the people still in the cycle of rebirth when there is no earth to be born onto? And whats stopping the life energy from being trapped again in another material cell billions of years from now like it did millions of years ago. The cycle will never be over and we'll all have to start from scratch. Sorry if your not following this.. There is no end to suffering as long as there is energy and the only way it will stop is if energy dissapears but energy has no begining and no end. There are so many people on this earth and there are heaps more evolving every day. Where does each individual flux of matter originate?
: Any response will be appreciated but it will probably confuse me even more.
: With metta, Craig

Another way to look at it. Say you got all the answers, what are you going to do about it? (AT least to me,) Buddha did what he can: teaches whoever wanted to become enlightened, and plants seeds to whoever is not ready.

As a question in Chan/Zen: what do you plan to do with you life if you are to die in one hour, one year, ten years, 100 years, 10,000 years. (Why the answers should be different?)
