I read an article recently in which His Holiness the Dalai Lama said he doesn't feel enlightened. (And yes, he did laugh.) He doesn't even pay much attention to the fact that he's the Dalai Lama! He explained that sometimes he has dreams about "meeting" women, or about eating meat. "But," he says, "never in those dreams do I say, 'No, I am Dalai Lama.' Always I say, 'No, I am monk.' First I am monk." He finished by saying if he ever were relieved of the leadership role of Dalai Lama (and he said he would be relieved because he'd like to see the Tibetan people rule themselves democraticly), he would simply sit around and meditate, and he would probably continue to reincarnate. "I have a long way to go," he said.

I think this was in Newsweek, but I can't remember for sure.

Just thought I'd relate the story.

Peace and much laughter (in the spirit of His Holiness)... Sam :)
