: Hi -
I was looking into having a buddhist ceremony and found out some interesting info from someone who follows shambala practice. He described that two tables are presented one with flowers, candles and something sacred to you --if your religious perhaps a photo of the Buddha. On the other table is 6 bowls representing; discipline, generosity, meditation, (I forget the others) and each is presented to the couple with a statement for each one.
The idea was that you are joining together to better the community. As you both will encounter eachother on a daily basis you will have the opportunity or challenge to grow together and learn & accept eachother, and inturn society/community/world.
