: Hello everyone!
: I'm a 16 year old girl from Canada. I have been reading about different religions lately and have gained interest in buddhism. I still don't know that much about it, but I would love to gain more knoweledge. Anyway, I am a believer, if you will, of science. I believe that it can explain many (not all, but many) things. I was wondering what view buddhism had of science.
: Thank you

Friend Maya, hello.
I am new to this forum but I could not pass on your entry. You are truely blessed to be searching for the truth at this time in your life as a human - truely blessed.
Just an added note on my feelings of Buddhism and Science. I enjoy them both. One of the reasons is that neither ask the "searcher" to make a "leap of faith" but instead, both make the polite request that the searcher study the situation themselves and dispel ignorance, hatred, and attachment through the acquisition of true knowledge. It may be impossible to find the absolute truth immediately, but like a water wheel, if we keep at it drop by drop with mindfulness, the truth will come. Both require that we stay true to our "practice."
Keep at it Maya, you are well on the path. I know that your trek will be worth the effort. May peace and compassion follow you on your search.
