Thank you so much for responding. After thinking long and hard on why people who were raised with strict christian backgrounds are sometimes dissatisfied with the beliefs, I am very proud to be raised without any strict background at all. I do not feel any guilt or bogged down by the dogma of a religion. Although my parents are christians (mainly my mom), I was never told or forced to go to church (we went only if we wanted to). I have been to many churches and have taken the positive aspect of each one and just considered the negative ones as the fault of the church and the members. Yes, I do believe in God, but I believe that God is in everyone and not just one BIG entity. I also believe that the bible is a good book on how one should live their lifes in relationships to one another (sorta like a self-help book).

So, is Buddhism a way to take the good in all belief and use it to become a better person enternally?
