I hope you do not become discouraged because you don't live near a temple or have found a teacher.
It is true that this is the best and quickest way to learn about Buddhism but sometimes impatience can be the cause of your becoming disheartened.
Please do look for places on the Internet where you can connect with other Buddhists. If you try this you can find even some teaching given by Monks which are available. It is better to find these sources and use them than to feel you can make no progress unless you are able to be near a temple. I am sure there are many people who do not have the availability of a temple and a teacher who are humble and lovers of truth who can learn much and grow in Buddhism until they are able to reach the ideal of having their own teacher. Please do some investigating on the Internet. You will find many who will give you great encouragement.
Wishing you a peaceful heart.
